Hi 3rd Grade!

We had another awesome Zoom call this morning and I am so grateful for the time we get to spend together! Here’s a summary of the call and some at home extensions that everyone can do whether or not they were able to join!


I was so excited to hear that many students had played the Guess That Number Game we learned last week. If you want a refresher on how to play, check out this video of me playing and explaining the game with my roommate!

In today’s class, we learned a new game called Find that Factor. Check out this video for instructions and to watch me play!

Students can continue to aim for 1 hour of Khan Academy Practice each week! If students need a refresher on the multiplication and division strategies we use in class, they should watch this video where I explain our strategies!


Thank you so much to all of those students who practiced drawing and writing their steps. We had so much fun today recreating the drawings of our peers! Remember, good drawing directions show each step drawn out and written out in words!

Daily Diary Challenge: This week, students can continue to practice their drawing AND they can start their Daily Diary. The Daily Diary is a 5-7 minute task where students can split a piece of paper into 4 squares. In the first, they should list What I Did Today, then What I Saw TodaySomething I Overheard Today, and A Picture of Something I Saw Today. Students should try to do 2 entries before Thursday and be ready to share on Zoom. Here is an example and template for the Daily Diary. They can print off the template, or simply create one for themselves in a notebook or on a piece of paper.
