Rodriguez, S. – Math and Science – 4/6

Teacher: Rodriguez, S. (srodriguez@hps.holyoke.ma.us)

Assignment:

Hello grade 4 students and families. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend. Hopefully you were able to get outside and get some fresh air. My family and I went on a nice walk and cooked some hamburgers on the grill. I know this has been a difficult transition for many, including me. It has been great seeing you on Zoom. I can’t wait until tomorrow morning’s Zoom meeting at 9:30.

I want to give a “shout out” to recognize the following students for completing some Flocabulary activities:
Sebastian, Lizmarie, Joseph, Kymani, and Arianna S.!
GREAT WORK!!! Keep it up!

The expectations for math this week is that you work about a half-hour each day on the Grade 4 Review assignment posted on Dojo.

In addition to the math assignment, you should spend about 10-15 minutes practicing your multiplication facts: Here are some free resources that you can use:

For science this week, watch this Mystery Science video titled “Where Do Clouds Come From?”

https://mysteryscience.com/weather/mystery-1/water-cycle-phases-of-matter/46?code=NjAyMzA5OTQ&t=student

After watching the video, you will know about water vapor. Think about what’s going on in these situations. Choose one to respond to and send me your answers. There is also a Readworks article with questions in Google Classroom Science.

When you take a hot shower, why does the mirror in the bathroom fog up?
On a cold day, why do you sometimes see your breath?
Early in the morning, why is the grass sometimes covered with drops of dew?
