Monday 4/13 – Art for 5th & 6th Grade

Teacher: Amy Jewitt (

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a restful weekend!

Today’s daily art challenge is:

Today, you will need a partner to do this game! You will need the following materials: • A pencil/drawing materials

  • A partner
  • Multiple pieces of paper
Fold one piece of paper so that it is divided into three even parts. Unfold the paper and

without your partner seeing, draw a head in the topmost section. Get silly with it! Here are some features to help inspire you: sharp pointy teeth, flat teeth, big ears, small square eyes, pointy beak, long tongue, a crazy hat, curly hair, facial hair. Next, mark lines for the neck into the next section of the folded paper so that your partner can draw the torso of the creature into the middle section. Without letting you see, let your partner create the torso, or middle part, of the creature. Here is some inspiration: round body, long squiggly arms, hairy armpits. Finally, your partner should pass the paper back to you to complete the legs in the bottom section of the paper. Use inspiration from various animals to create silly legs such as skinny bird legs, large elephant feet, clown shoes. Once you have completed the drawing, open up the piece of paper and see what you have created together! Mr. Jewitt and I had fun making this example for you.
