Buckley – Friday Journal Prompt 3/27

Teacher: Buckley (sbuckley@hps.holyoke.ma.us)

Welcome Fabulous Fifth Graders!

I miss you all so much and I hope you’re all safe and healthy! I hope that you are taking this time to rest, enjoying time with your families and keeping your brain working!

One of my favorite things to do is write in my journal.
Today I’m asking you to write a journal entry about what you are experiencing RIGHT NOW!

History has chosen YOU to live in this time. 50 years from now kids will want to know what it was like when you, your friends, and family had to respond to the Coronavirus outbreak.
They will want to know what it was like being out of school.
They will want to know what it was like when all the stores ran out of things like toilet paper and bread!
They will want to know how you learned about what was going on.
They will even just want to know what you did to pass the time when you can’t see your friends!

Write a letter to future generations of kids describing what this time is like for you! Click on this link and make a copy to write your journal entry with or without sentence stems to help you. I’ve written my own journal entry for you to read as a guide.

Once you are finished, please share your writing with my email sbuckley@hps.holyoke.ma.us or send a photo of your writing to me on Class Dojo.

Please feel free to email me, message me on Class Dojo, or give me a call if you have any questions or just to say hi! I miss you all and cannot wait to read your responses! I am so proud to be your teacher!
