Assignment:

Kids need an outlet to express their emotions.  Journaling is a great way to help them initiate emotional expression.

Materials:

  • Notebook or paper
  • Marker, pen or pencil

Steps:

  1. Have your child decorate and place their name on the cover of a notebook.
  2. Mention that you will be writing in your journal at the end of the day.
  3. Encourage the child to write a sentence or two about their emotions for the day.
  4. You can also have the child draw a picture to represent the written feelings.
