Parent-Read Aloud Reflection/Final close read assignment 4/8

Teacher: Parent (

Hello 3rd Graders,

This morning was so full of meaningful discussion and reflection! I loved hearing all of your earliest memories. My favorite part of our Zoom meeting was when we took a brief moment to discuss some of our fears and thoughts about the COVID-19 virus and the feelings we have about not being at school. It is very important that you know you can always open up and talk to me or the other adults at Donahue about this big change in our lives. I will always be here to listen to your thoughts and feelings no matter what!

As promised, I have attached a worksheet to guide you through a “Close Read Reflection/Analysis”.
You can use this worksheet and print it out if someone you live with has a printer available.
You can use the worksheet to copy onto blank paper and write with your own version.
You can CREATE YOUR VERY OWN CLOSE READ WORKSHEET. All you need to do is use your imagination and use what you already know about close reading. I would love to see all the creative ways that you can apply what you already know to take a closer look at the text!

If you DO create your own, you can share a picture of it with me on ClassDojo or email it to me at
You can also send me a text with an image attached at (413) 505-4621

It is very important that you watch/listen to the ENTIRE book on youtube BEFORE you work on your close read reflection worksheet. You can click on the link here …..

When you finish and are ready to begin writing, remember to find evidence from the text by looking back at the book to help you complete the worksheet!

*****NO CLASS/ZOOM meeting on Friday due to the holiday******
( I will see you all on Monday at 9:30 am)

Love & Hugs,
Mrs. Parent
