Russo – Math: Access Virtual Workbook

Teacher: Russo (arusso@hps.holyoke.ma.us)

Assignment:

Hello Marvelous 6th and 7th Grade Mathematicians!

Your teachers miss you dearly, and we hope you are doing well!  Me? Well, I’ve been busy thinking up some fun ways for you all to keep math alive even though we can’t be together. I’ve also been baking bread like a crazy person, so never doubt me when I tell you that ratios and percentages REALLY are a part of my daily life! (:

I’m so glad that you found our class on hpsathome.com!  Because we already have ClassDojo set up where I’ve been posting all of our work, I won’t be posting work directly to this website. I just wanted to make sure that you know where to reach me, and where to access the work so that you have everything you need to stay on top of things!

Because we are a Summit Learning school, you always have access to your summit learning account.  Please feel free to log into Summit Learning (summitlearning.org) at any time during the school closure. Please reach out to me through ClassDojo if you have questions about Focus Areas, Content Assessments, or Cool Downs that you can work on during this time.

In addition to Summit, here are even more resources that you can access during your time away from school:

  • Khanacademy.com Ms. Maturo made us two different classes that you can join according to your grade level. Click here for 6th grade and here for 7th grade. Once you join the class, you can access all of the videos and practice sets just like you would from Summit. But here, the videos and practice problems will go in order, so you don’t have to guess where to start! (Use your holyoke public school email to create an account!)

  • Bokskids.org is a physical activity program to get your body moving in case you’re feeling restless!

  • Readworks.org Did you know that working on your reading skills will make you a better mathematician?  It’s true! If you’re looking to really zoom in on reading comprehension, Readworks is going to be a great fit for you!

  • Read 180/Systems 44 On that same note, why not work on reading the same way you would if you were in Mr. Sosa’s class? Again, we can’t be marvelous mathematicians without rad reading skills!

I will be making work available to you at least twice a week.  If you are having trouble accessing it on ClassDojo, send me an email at arusso@hps.holyoke.ma.us!

I miss you all, but I am confident that we can stay in touch and stay a strong learning community with all of these resources on our side! Please remember to check out our ClassDojo page often, and follow Peck Full Service Community School on Facebook to stay up to date and access additional resources posted by the entire Peck community!

Stay safe and PLEASE wash those hands!

Thinking of you,

Ms. Russo
